The renewed space brings daylight and clarity back to a former library, creating an inviting campus center that supports learning, connection, and community pride.

Saint Joseph School, known to many families as St Joe’s, is a K–8 Catholic, Jesuit parish school with a campus composed of an older brick building, a mid-century middle school building, and a 2013 addition connecting the two.

Our team led the renovation of a space that had first served as an outdoor covered play area before being enclosed and converted into a library. We opened the plan back up while creating appealing nooks for gathering and reading, reopened every window bay, exposed the original brick, and brought a lot of daylight back into the space.

The design needed to serve two audiences: every student, as well as prospective families, who regularly gather there during admissions events. Within the same footprint, the renovation also introduced a new classroom and an office.

The result is a brighter, more functional hub for the St Joe’s community.
